Position Details

Provide quality parent education, support and navigation for men incarcerated in Kent, Ottawa and Muskegon counties. Responsibilities include facilitation of fatherhood programs and support groups in jail and in the community, supporting participants in identifying and accessing resources and activities for their families. Positive outcomes are achieved through purposeful and respectful relationships rooted in trauma informed care, hope and evidence-based research. An openness to embrace and explore bias, equity issues, success and challenges from a place of understanding and curiosity is needed to succeed and develop in the position / organization.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Prior experience working with the corrections population
  • Prior experience working with parents
  • Some evening availability required (approx. 40 hrs / week)
  • Prior group facilitation and case management experience preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred. Probably not necessary for this population
  • Valid driver's license and current auto insurance (Clean driving history)
