Position: Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Emergency Management and Security Operations

Sprezzatura seeks a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our growing team. The SME will be responsible for providing high-level expertise in emergency management operations, preparedness, and security protocols. The SME will leverage specialized knowledge to advise stakeholders, contribute to operational readiness, and enhance emergency and law enforcement practices. This position requires advanced analytical skills and the ability to deliver actionable solutions in mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply subject matter expertise to improve emergency management operations and preparedness planning.
  • Collaborate with security and law enforcement agencies to integrate best practices and enhance operational performance.
  • Provide recommendations to enhance risk mitigation strategies, operational security, and crisis response planning.
  • Analyze and develop policies, procedures, and training programs for emergency preparedness.
  • Support stakeholders with technical advice and situational assessments during emergencies or security incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local emergency preparedness and security protocols.
  • Maintain operational readiness through regular evaluations and improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare briefings and reports for senior leadership and other relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Emergency Management, Security Studies, Homeland Security, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in emergency management, security operations, law enforcement, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and initiatives involving interagency collaboration and crisis response.
  • Technical Knowledge and Skills:
    • In-depth understanding of Emergency Management Operations and Preparedness.
    • Extensive knowledge of Security and Law Enforcement frameworks, policies, and practices.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to translate complex scenarios into actionable recommendations.
  • Communication:
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Experience preparing high-level reports, briefings, and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications such as Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP).
  • Experience with federal emergency preparedness programs (e.g., FEMA's National Incident Management System - NIMS).
  • Familiarity with interagency coordination in emergency response or defense operations.
