Summary of the role and team:

The IT Senior Support Specialist will play a pivotal role in helping and supporting operations in our first US factory in Wilson, North Carolina. This position will be responsible for overseeing local IT resources and coordinating efforts to establish the necessary IT software and hardware infrastructure. Your role will encompass maintaining and enhancing software and hardware systems that are vital to the plant's success.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global IT, this position will collaborate closely with various team leaders across the organization to spearhead IT projects throughout their lifecycle: from conceptual proposals and design, to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. The role involves a proactive approach to continuously monitor and suggest enhancements to existing information technology systems. Effective management of third-party vendors will be a key responsibility, encompassing establishing strong relationships, resource coordination, qualification procedures, and conflict resolution, all aimed at maintaining a positive and productive partnership.

Your Day to day:

  • Provide onsite support to end users experiencing technical issues, ensuring effective resolution of problems using effecting information gathering and diagnostic techniques.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, network devices, and peripherals.
  • Perform routine system maintenance and upgrades to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems within the manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate with other IT staff and engineers to assist in the implementation of new technology solutions that improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Train staff on both new and existing IT systems and software.
  • Actively monitor ticket queues, take ownership of requests and enter details regarding resolution.
  • Document incidents, maintenance procedures, and system changes for ongoing reference and reporting.
  • Ensure strict adherence to IT policies, including data security protocols, to protect the company's digital assets.
  • Manage inventory of IT equipment, software, and supplies.
  • Work and manage external vendors' relationships.
  • Coordinate efforts among internal IT and external resources.
  • Able to lift-up to 50lbs.

The Ideal candidates:

Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing IT.

  • B.S. in Computer Science, System Engineering, or in a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of software that supports manufacturing such as ERP, MES and SCADA systems.
  • Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with proper mounting and cable management of server and network equipment.
  • Experience managing VMware environments, databases and active directories is a plus.
  • Experience with network administration is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
