ABOUT OUR PROGRAM: Grand River Health's Nurse Residency program supports Registered Nurses who are transitioning from an educational setting to a practical setting. They will provide professional nursing care, treatment, counseling, and health education while completing a structured nine-month program. The education supports growth in areas of reasoning, critical thinking, and skills, with frequent case reviews and hands-on learning opportunities. Our goal is to grow and nurture nurse residents into confident members of the GRH team that are passionate about improving the health and wellness of our community through clinical excellence.

RESIDENCY HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Multiple Departments availible. (Med/Surg, ED, LTC, and PACU)
  • Nine month program with NO application deadline
  • Three month preceptorship in the resident's choice area of nursing
  • Ongoing monthly meetings of mentor support and program coordinator support
  • A formal structure that includes evidence-based education, improvement of hands-on skills, case studies and mock codes
  • Customized learning based on resident needs
  • Resident will have regular job duties in their desired area of nursing
  • Growth opportunities for nursing in the rural setting
  • No out-of-pocket expenses
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Valid registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado required.
  • A temporary permit issued by the Board of Nursing will be accepted until a permanent license is received if awaiting reciprocity.
  • Must have current BLS card upon hire.
  • Position also requires ACLS, PALS or ENPC certification within 6 months of initial employment.
  • All required certifications must maintain current status throughout GRHD employment.
SALARY INFORMATION :
  • $30.50 $32.50 Dependent on Experience
  • Additional $2.00 - $4.00 an hour for additional weekend and night shifts
  • $10,000 Bonus (If Eligible)
