Summary About the Position: This position is located with the US Army 1st Special Forces Command, ACOFS, G-3 Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Responsibilities Plan, manage, and Direct Active Component/Reserve Component (AC/RC) language training in support of the Army Special Operations Forces Language Program. Prepare evaluations of Special Operations Forces language training programs and foreign language performance. Measure and ensure field compliance with SOCOM, USASOC, 1SFC(A), and HQDA language training regulations and directives. Serve as staff advisor to Command Language Program Managers in developing concepts, methods, programs, activities and budget to sustain or enhance foreign language skills. Exercise initiative and judgment in establishing effective ARSOF Language policy for Army Special Operation Forces language training programs. Review Special Operations Forces language contracts to ensure educational performance standards are maintained. Monitor associated program funding contributions and commitments. Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience in 1) Reviewing course curriculum in accordance with established program guidelines; 2). Utilizing training assessments, evaluations and other analytical methods to evaluate program effectiveness; 3) Providing recommendations to higher and subordinate commands regarding course curricula and instruction; 4.) Monitoring program funding; 5) Maintaining automated systems such as Defense Travel System and USSOCOM SOFLO language data base. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Curriculum Development Education / Training Program Administration Instructional Delivery and Learner Development Learning and Program Evaluation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone, no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One- year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
