Summary

The Human Resources Specialist will participate in the full cycle of the recruitment process, from sourcing candidates, screening, interviewing and hiring. Responsible for accurate data entry of demographic, benefits and other employee information into HRIS systems. Assist with creation of employee communications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process; job postings; attend and participate in college job fairs and other internal and external recruiting opportunities; schedule interviews; oversee preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials; attends and conducts interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across various systems and databases.
  • Input employee information, including personal details, compensation, benefits, and deductions into our payroll system.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Human Resource during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Promotes good citizenship through actions as a role model
  • Conducts themselves according to professional, ethical principles that reflect favorably upon the individual and the school
  • Maintains highest level of confidentiality pertaining to school and students' information, progress, and records
  • Assumes other responsibilities assigned by supervisor and/or school administrator
  • Abides by the CCS Employee Manual, CCS policies and procedures, and all current PA Public School expectations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least one year of human resource recruitment and/or benefits management experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Google applications, HRIS and benefits software and platforms
  • Required Clearances include Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114), all dated within one year of receipt
  • Meets criteria for employment in a PA Public School
