POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and break/fix issues for DFN's Corporate IT Network

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation as it relates to server and network topology, equipment, and configuration(s).
  • Create user accounts and perform access control.
  • Implement security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats.
  • Standard system administration duties including server install, System/Application install and patch management, Windows problem determination and resolution, log analysis, etc.
  • Configure, test, and maintain LAN equipment and services, including switches, routers, firewalls and VPN.
  • Serve as Unix/Linux/Windows administrator and monitoring desktop and services for DFN's corporate network.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems including network connectivity, traffic utilization, etc. using available network tools in a timely fashion.
  • Interface with third party vendors as liaison between client and vendor.
  • Stay current with system information, changes, and updates.
  • Assist with monthly reports, and recommendations for DFN's IT Network.
  • Manage multiple tasks/priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and fill in for on-call shifts.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3-5 years of prior IT experience. Prior experience working for a service provider is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate by phone or in person.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve successful outcomes in handling difficult situations and work with various customers and management levels.
  • Detailed understanding of the OSI model as well as understanding of IP networking.
  • Ability to initiate and complete projects with minimal direction and guidance.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with a variety of customers verbally as well as written forms.
  • Microsoft certifications a plus.
  • CCNA certification a plus.
  • Hands on experience with Wired and Wireless networking, PC and server virtualization software, virus protection, backup systems.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritizes existing projects, and proactively determine areas requiring additional attention, monitoring, or maintenance.
  • Must be able to thrive in a busy, multifaceted office environment.
  • Shows initiative and acts independently to resolve problems. Willingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge.
  • Must maintain a high level of professionalism when dealing with all customers, internal departments, and vendors.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license.
