  • Responsible for the analysis of all Pathology, Cytology and Autopsy Specimens according to hospital and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensures the prompt response to on-call and frozen section requests through self or designee.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of clinical specimens.
  • Knowledge for the oversight of Point of Care Testing.
  • Performs and ensures the timely turnaround of autopsies according to hospital guidelines.
  • Supports compliance with all accrediting agencies including College of American Pathologists.
  • Participates in performance in all required proficiency testing required by New York State and College of American Pathologists.
  • Oversees the Quality Control for all Departments as necessary.
  • Attends Cancer Committee, Tumor Board, Quality Committee, Blood Utilization, Point of Care, and other meetings as requested.
  • Ensures the turnaround time of the results from the Department of Pathology.
Requirements:
  • MD/DO
  • Board Certified in Pathology
  • 2-3 years prior experience in Pathology.
