What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide advocacy-based domestic violence counseling.
- Conduct initial intake and safety assessment
- Provide emotional support utilizing various counseling techniques.
- Provide psychoeducation on the dynamics of domestic violence and trauma.
- Assist clients in identifying options and achieving goals.
- Plan and facilitate psychoeducational, prevention and/or support groups for clients on-site and high-risk individuals in the community.
- Respond to callers who access the SafeHouse Denver crisis line via telephone.
• Provide information, education, and emotional support.
- Participate in all required staff meetings and supervision
- Demonstrate initiative and vision for service quality improvement and problem prevention and resolution.
- Work diligently to achieve individual, team, and agency goals and objectives.
- Network with other service providers and community agencies to assist clients and the agency.
- Maintain accurate and timely record keeping.
- Responsible for appropriate charting and all necessary documentation.
- Complete required and time sensitive data collection and entry.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required: Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field 2 years of experience working in a counseling setting.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; superior time management and organizational skills Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field Attentive, responsive, and proactive; ability to pivot as necessary to meet the needs of survivors. Outstanding interpersonal skills Detail oriented with strong technical aptitude; advanced proficiency in utilizing MS Office Ability to work in a diverse environment Passion for the SafeHouse Denver mission A solid understanding of how people and organizations change and the ability to be adaptable. Strong working knowledge of domestic violence and empowerment models; crisis intervention and advocacy skills Bilingual Spanish Ability to function independently

- Competitive Pay: $23-25 hourly, part-time position, non-exempt, with annual performance evaluations and an opportunity for merit-based increase
