Job Title: Data Automation Technologist Duration: 12 Months Location: Richland, WA (99352) 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off Description: Position Summary You will be working as part of the engineering team assisting EGS, automation engineers, and project users in identifying and extracting technical data from a variety of sources. You will work with the Engineering Automation team on schedule and reporting work progress. You will work to organize and coordinate software lifecycle documents, create user accounts, update the Engineering Automation website with the latest information, perform routine data quality checks, and provide user assistance related to automation tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for utilizing the computer to collect, organize, and present technical data. You will be interfacing and coordinating with other engineering disciplines in your day-to-day work activities. Responsibilities The primary role of the Engineering Technologist is to support the users by providing access or creating user accounts to software and applications supported by Engineering Automation. He/she will perform routine data quality checks and support the EGS, Lead, and engineers in tracking information, locating documents and/ or document preparation. The Engineering Technologist supports training presentations, including preparing training documents and slides. The Engineering Technologist supports the preparation of change management documents under the engineer's supervision. The Engineering Technologist ensures the work is performed on schedule with high-quality standards for nuclear facilities. In addition, it will be required that the candidate has excellent communication skills and can demonstrate leadership, quality, and safety values within the workgroup and in interfacing disciplines. Qualification and Skills Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree plus 1 year or less of related experience US Citizenship Required Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Minimum Qualifications Proficient in software tools (MS Excel, Word, Access, Power Point) Computer Skills: A strong aptitude for utilizing the computer to collect, organizes, and presents technical data through the use of relational databases. Technical Skills: Analyze data within technical documents to identify relevant information and properly classify that information so that it can be sorted and readily retrieved for later analysis and use by project staff. Analytical Skills: Possess the desire and ability to monitor large quantities of information and employ efficient extraction techniques in response to requests for information. Communication Skills: As a member of an Engineering Automation team, communicate with other data analysts, engineers, technical experts, and management. Attention to Detail: Possess the ability to accurately identify and capture relevant technical details from within large documents and data sets.
