Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of QA to join our team. This leadership role will be pivotal in defining and implementing best practices in product and software quality assurance (QA). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in QA methodologies, tools, and processes, and will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of world-class QA services to our clients. This position will be based in either Austin, Texas or the greater Detroit area.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Strategy:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with the company’s mission and goals.
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of QA processes.
    • Interact with other leaders and managers on the Delivery team, providing a comprehensive set of services across all aspects of project delivery.
    • Interact and cooperate with the CTO and the engineering team to ensure alignment with the technical skills and direction of the company.
  • Process and Best Practices:
    • Define and standardize QA processes, methodologies, and best practices across the organization.
    • Implement and maintain QA tools and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Oversee the development and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
    • Ensure thorough testing of software and hardware products to identify and resolve defects.
    • Monitor and report on QA metrics, including defect rates, test coverage, and test execution progress.
  • Client Services:
    • Work closely with clients to understand their QA needs and deliver tailored QA solutions.
    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality QA services that meet or exceed client expectations.
    • Continuously seek feedback from clients to improve QA processes and services.

Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
      • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software and/or hardware QA, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
      • Proven track record of defining and implementing QA processes and best practices.
      • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
      • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
      • Experience working with international teams and clients, especially in Latin America, is a plus.
      • Spanish language skills are helpful.
      • Occasional international travel is required.
