Looking to hire a strong engineer to join the Store team at CVS where you will help develop, support, and maintain applications that directly impact store employees. The ideal fit is somebody who is comfortable jumping from application to applications and is more than capable writing high quality code under pressure.

Roles and Responsabilities
  • Designing and building functional and intuitive mobile applications for the Android platform
  • Translating project designs and wireframes into high-quality code
  • Writing clean and efficient code for Android mobile applications
  • Collaborating with senior Android developers, user experience (UX) designers and software engineers to work on different layers of the mobile app infrastructure, defining application requirements and design features
  • Participating in client meetings to understand user interface (UI)/UX requirements
  • Working with multiple data sources and third-party application programming interfaces (APIs)
  • Testing and editing code for robustness, reliability and security
  • Monitoring the live performance of apps to improve quality, responsiveness and end-UX
  • Helping maintain the code quality of the organisation
  • Identifying and eliminating bottlenecks that impact application performance
  • Performing unit and instrumentation tests to identify and remove bugs
  • Evaluating the performance of existing apps and implementing new technologies to improve efficiency
  • Collaborating closely with the marketing department to ensure consistency in the brand's voice across applications
  • Creating app updates and releasing them periodically
  • Staying ahead of with the latest mobile application trends, protocols and advancements
Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ or more years of experience required.
  • Primarily needs to lead the team under the guidance of engineering manager.
  • Strong understanding of Android Programming
  • Strong Debugging skills: Experience with ADB commands
  • Stays up to date on the latest trends / Google recommendations.
  • Has worked with various architecture patterns including MVVM and MVP
  • Strong Kotlin Skills
  • Working knowledge of RX Java
  • DI framework such as Dagger 2 or Hilt
  • Experience with Room / Realm
  • Experience with MySQL or any relational db.
  • Nice to Have:
  • Knowledge of Angular is a plus.
  • Cross Platform framework experience with Xamarin, Ionic, or React Native
  • Good sense of UI / UX
  • Familiar with Linux environments / docker

The annual salary for this position is between $43,900K – $120,000K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
