Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to join our organization and provide oversight and day-to-day management of the building operations and support services in a large homeless shelter for migrant families.

The Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in running the shelter by overseeing Shift Supervisors and Residence Workers, , ensuring collaboration among staff, and coordinating with outsourced security and building maintenance staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and schedule all operations staff.
  • Provides day to day guidance to the Shift Supervisors, Residence Workers, security staff and maintenance staff in collaboration with the Program Director in the delivery of direct services to clients.
  • Implement and monitor policies and procedure related to operating and maintaining the shelter facility, includeing facility walkthrough, room inspections, reporting of bed vacancies, and incident management and reporting.
  • Supervise LMSW Clinical Supervisors
  • Provide coaching, training and staff development to operations team
  • Ensure that facility operations meet contractual and regulatory requirements of NYC DHS and NYS OTDA

Qualifications, Education and Experience

Bachelors or Associates Degree preferred, with at least five years years of progressive supervisory experience managing operations in a homeless shelter setting.

  • Experience working with diverse communities, including immigrants
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and team building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
  • FDNY F-80 Preferred
  • Proficiency in DHS CARES Software Preferred
