A multi-national global-leading manufacturing and technology corporation has an immediate need for a manufacturing-based Gas Utilities Process Engineer for their key North American operations located in the Decatur, AL, area. In this position, you'll provide process engineering support to the Gas/Utilities Production department. Also, you'll provide the engineering, information, and analytical services needed to support process unit operations.This position comes with a $90-115K or so base salary range (depending on experience, etc.), sign-on bonus, up to a 12% annual bonus, outstanding but low-cost complete benefits, excellent 401K match, very strong paid relocation assistance, and a highly-desirable work environment and company culture. It will also provide career-building multiple career tracks at this campus, within the US, or in numerous global locations.Provide process engineering support to the Gas/Utilities Production department. Provide the engineering, information, and analytical services needed to support process unit operations.Typical Duties / Responsibilities:•Prompt, regular, and dependable attendance is an essential function of this job.•Responsible for the technical and economic aspects of process unit operations.•Provide technical support for the maintenance of existing equipment.•Improve present processes and equipment for more efficient and cost-effective operation.•Design and document the chemical processes required for the development of improved products.•Coordinate process development efforts with colleagues and management to achieve objectives.•Select the equipment required for the development of new products.•Design and document efficient and cost-effective processes and select the equipment required for the scale-up of new products from development to production.•Write procedures and provide training for the safe operation of new equipment.•Select equipment and control devices to enhance process control.•Perform leadership duties on selected projects which includes planning, activity coordination, and progress reporting.•Supervise technicians, as required.•Maintain awareness and report on pertinent new technologies.•Perform tasks, as determined by the department manager, necessary for the achievement of the department's objectives.•Direct and manage the total coordination between engineering and production to maximize the up-time of equipment and highest quality production, in a safe and environmentally sound manner.•Maintain continuity of staff attitudes within a pro-active mode.•Ongoing reinforcement on engineering and maintenance personnel of management's overall commitment and support of short and long term concerns.•Provide engineering and maintenance services to operations group as required or needed.•Establish and implement engineering/maintenance cost savings techniques.•Maintain a safe and environmentally-sound working environment.•Maintain objectives within fiscal budget constraints.•Evaluate, set goals, and set priorities within departments.•Interface with other engineers, managers, etc., in group meetings, as required.•Assist with the adherence to the requirements of regulatory agencies.•Reduce maintenance, materials, and repair costs from budget when possible.•Assist with the design and operation of equipment to minimize environmental releases.•Adhere to budget objectives and strive for savings in material and labor costs.•Maintain plant goals and objectives on an overall basis.Qualifications:BS in Chemical Engineering or closely related is required Distillation Process experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is necessary.PSM (Process Safety Management) experience required2 years minimum experience required
