Senior Accountant | Norwood, NC | Contract
Necessary Skills and Strengths:

Core Experience:
+ 3+ years of general accounting experience
+ Experience working with the GL, JE, month-end, balance sheets, and reconciliations
+ Daily financial transaction experience is highly preferred
+ Invoicing experience researching and resolving discrepancies
+ Data Analysis and Reporting
+ Experience with ERP systems (QuickBooks Desktop) and Excel pivot tables, v look ups, formulas, etc.
Responsibilities of this Role:
+ Records all financial transactions promptly including accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit card transactions, adjusting journal entries, and any other transactions.
+ Performs accounts receivable process including entering sales orders in QuickBooks and matching and applying payments received.
+ Utilize sales-related systems (Toast, Stripe, CloudBeds) as needed to capture necessary accounting information.
+ Performs accounts payable process including verifying vendor documents and setting up new vendors in QuickBooks, entering invoices in QuickBooks, printing checks, coordinating for checks to be signed by authorized signers, and mailing checks. Weekly check runs.
+ Completes monthly reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts.
+ Performs the monthly financial close process to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial statements and variances to budget.
+ Closes accounting period and distributes approved financial reports by the 10th of the following period.
+ Communicates with department managers on questions regarding their financial results.
+ Respond to inquiries from the parent company as needed.
+ Responds to inquiries from customers and vendors as needed regarding financial transactions.
+ Ensures timely billing of and collection from customers, as well as paying vendors within agreed terms.
+ Maintains details of any changes to fixed asset inventory.
