Salary: $68,295.00 AnnuallyLocation : New Bern, NCJob Type: Full-TimeJob Number: 10383Department: HealthDivision: Health ServicesOpening Date: 11/18/2024Closing Date: ContinuousPrimary PurposeThe primary purpose of this position is to coordinate, supervise and assist in the Adult Primary Care Clinic of Craven County Health Department/Craven County Community Health Center. Essential Functions Adult Primary Care Lead Nurse/CoordinatorSupervise the adult primary care clinic. Make schedule adjustments for staff and patient schedules as appropriate. Manage all inventory and place orders as appropriate to prevent excessive cost while maintaining adequate supplies for clinic function. Conduct monthly staff meetings as needed. Rotate to check off crash cart/AED/Oxygen located in Child Health monthly. Make recommendations to the supervisor or director for supplies, equipment and staffing needs in order to accomplish program goals. Plan, manage and revise Adult Primary Care Clinic roster for clinic flow, and utilize the appointment system. Ensure E-superbill is completed by Physicians/ Physician Extender II prior to patient discharge. Keep clinic policies and procedures current with local standards of practice and FQHC Guidelines. Prepare performance appraisals and forward to Supervisor II for review. Coordinate Adult Primary Care nursing staff leave requests Adult Primary Care ClinicAssist in the Primary Care Clinic daily unless otherwise directed by supervisor. Obtain basic history, B/P check and preparation of patient for physical exam and assisting Physician or Physician Extender II during physical exam during Adult Primary Care Clinic, instruct the patient in following Physicians / Physician Extender II directives / orders. Counsel patients regarding plan of care, abnormal findings and follow up with appropriate referrals as necessary. TrainingAttend workshops, conferences and seminars to keep abreast of new knowledge regarding Public Health, Primary Care, FQHC and other related trainings as deemed appropriate. Other dutiesIn times of disaster, function as a health professional in a Red Cross Shelter. Perform work-related duties as assigned by the Health Director, Human Services Deputy Director or Clinical Nursing Supervisor. Minimum Education and ExperienceGraduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and two years of Public Health nursing experience; or a Master's in Public Health and graduation from a school of professional nursing and two years of professional nursing experience; or graduation from a school of professional nursing and three years of professional nursing experience including two years of Public Health nursing experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the N.C. Employees have the option to purchase additional disability insurance at their own cost.North Carolina Local Governmental Employees' Retirement SystemEligible employees are automatically enrolled in the retirement system and must contribute 6% of their gross salary each pay period. Once eligibility requirements are met, employees will be able to receive monthly payments for life based on their salary, age, and years of service credit.NC401kCraven County contributes 2% of eligible employees' gross salary into the 401(k) account regardless of the employee's deferral amount. In addition, the County matches employee deferrals up to an additional 3%. Annual LeaveRegular full-time employees earn annual leave based upon years of service. Eligible employees begin to accrue annual leave as soon as they start but must complete a six month probationary period before they are eligible to use annual leave. Less than two years of service earns 10 days per year. Two but less than five years of service earns 12 days per year. Five but less than 10 years of service earns 15 days per year. 10 but less than 20 years of service earns 18 days per year. 20 or more years of service earns 20 days per year.Sick LeaveRegular full-time employees earn 3.69 hours of sick leave per pay period. Craven County accepts eligible sick leave from the State of North Carolina, any of its political subdivisions, any local government entity or authority, or municipality in North Carolina.Paid HolidaysCounty employees receive 11-14 paid holidays annually. The Board of County Commissioners may adjust the holiday schedule as deemed necessary.LongevityEligible employees earn $200 in longevity after five years of service by October 31 of the qualifying year. Longevity benefits increase $25 per year up to a maximum of $1,000.Merit ProgramCraven County offers a merit program. Up to 56% of eligible employees may receive a performance-based merit increase each year.Supplemental BenefitsCounty employees are also offered a variety of supplemental benefits to select at their own expense such as Life Insurance, Vision Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, Critical Care policies, Cancer policies, Long-term Care policies, Hospitalization policies, 457b Deferred Compensation Plan and Aflac.Employee benefits are subject to change or may be contingent upon funding availability.
