What You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in welding engineering or related role, preferably in a manufacturing environment with exposure to welding different metals.
  • Proficiency in various welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, for steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Strong knowledge of welding metallurgy, materials selection, and heat treatment techniques for different metals.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, such as AWS D1.1, ANSI/AISC, and ASME, applicable to various metal types.
  • Experience with welding procedure qualification, process validation, and quality assurance for multiple metal types.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot welding-related issues across different metals.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites, fabrication facilities, and client locations as required.

What Your Job Will Look Like:

  • As a Welding Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, efficiency, and safety of our welding processes across a range of metals. The Welding Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of welding operations, from initial design and development to implementation and ongoing optimization. Working closely with our engineering, production, and quality assurance teams, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance weld quality, productivity, and process reliability.Lead the development and optimization of welding processes for various metals used in racking systems, including but not limited to steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Consider factors such as material properties, joint design, welding techniques, and equipment selection.
  • Develop and qualify welding procedures to meet applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements for different metal types. Conduct qualification tests and ensure compliance with relevant industry specifications.
  • Implement robust quality control measures to monitor and evaluate weld quality throughout the production process. Perform inspections, non-destructive testing, and root cause analysis to identify and address defects or deviations.
  • Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of welding equipment used for various metals. Ensure optimal performance and reliability of welding machinery and accessories.
  • Provide training and guidance to welding personnel on proper techniques, procedures, and safety protocols specific to welding various metals. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including weld procedures, work instructions, and records of inspections and tests.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance weld quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness across different metal types. Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency gains.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, standards, and best practices for welding various metals. Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols among welding personnel.
