Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the strategy and solutions of DTC systems and interfaces, aligning customer needs and business objectives to applications and technical requirements.
  • Own, define and execute systems roadmap for Order Management System (OMS), retail Point of Sale (POS) as well as their respective interfaces to downstream systems such as WMS, ERP, payment processors and other relevant applications in the order management process.
  • Together with the DTC product team, identify requirements, define features and lead the implementation of new digital products including the development and management of project budget and project plan.
  • Assess the current direct-to-consumer systems landscape, identify gaps/opportunities and recommend innovative solutions to future-proof the business and add value to the DTC supply chain.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including e.g. operations, IT, finance, retail and external partners to shape, design and implement future capabilities to support a growing operation. Effectively communicate the strategic vision, goals, and priorities and get buy-in across departments.
  • Proactively identify potential risks, challenges and dependencies across projects and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes and no impact to business operations.
  • Manages technology vendor evaluations including the RFP process, selection and implementation.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs and lead the team to achieve goals for operational excellence by establishing systems
  • monitoring, optimizing incident management and ensuring compliance of our SOX controls.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship and support to product team members to drive best-in-class results.
  • Oversee documentation and testing protocols and ensure the reliability and quality of system improvements through
  • thorough testing and monitoring processes.
  • Follows industry trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and risks and ensure state-of-the-art
  • system setup.

Interfaces / Relationships:

Key cross-functional relationships with operations, finance, retail operations, IT and frontend teams

Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of direct-to-consumer systems architectures with a solid grasp of distributed order management technologies
  • Proven track record of multiple successful system integrations involving OMS, POS, WMS, ERP and other applications supporting the ecommerce and omnichannel operation
  • Excellent technical understanding of interfaces and protocols. Familiar working with integrations (Xml, Flat Json, flat files etc.) and ability to create business/mapping documents
  • Proven experience in developing and executing projects, meeting deadlines and operating under tight time constraints
  • Solid vendor management expertise with focus on developing strong partnerships with external partners
  • Experience in providing industry benchmarking, cost-benefit analyses and vendor proposal evaluations
  • Understand and identify cross-functional dependencies and able to mitigate risks
  • Understand and effectively document business, operational and technical requirements for product, operations, and
  • engineering/IT teams and external partners.
  • Think and act strategically and understand how role contributes to larger outcome

Professional experience

  • 8+ years of experience working in direct-to-consumer systems field (ecommerce, retail background)

Skills

  • OMS experience strong preference for experience with IBM Sterling
  • Familiarity with retail store solutions / POS
  • Experience with middle ware systems such as Mulesoft, Boomie etc.
  • Experience with ware house management systems ,ideally Manhattan
  • Strong understanding of protocols and standards (REST, SOAP, EDI)
  • Familiarity with ERP integrations, preferably SAP
  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence
  • Experience working with databases
  • Project management skills
  • Enterprise architecture skills are a plus (synergy of systems and processes)
  • Strong MS office excel skills and proficiency in MS office applications
