Job Summary: Senior Systems Administrator
6 Month Contract to Hire
Location: Kansas City, Onsite
Client: IT Services and Management Consulting Firm.
Pay: $35-$45hr

We're looking for a well-rounded systems administrator who'll support our clients' IT environments by resolving tickets, patching, troubleshooting, and supporting deployments. We're very interested if you have a strong O365 background

Key Responsibilities:
  • Resolve IT tickets for servers, applications, networks, and desktops. Configure Active Directory, Group Policy, and file/print services.
  • Ensure SLAs are met by assigning ticket severity and prioritizing work accordingly for support calls and incoming tickets.
  • Configure hardware, peripherals, and services to standards and project requirements.
  • Perform software installations, image operating systems, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance tuning from multiple vendors and systems.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, configure, and deploy workstations, servers, VPN, printers, switches, routers, peripherals, and software packages.
  • Perform daily system checks, data backups, restores, and validation tests.
  • Set up accounts, manage user moves, and make changes to user permissions.
  • Regular maintenance and performance monitoring ensure systems meet SLAs.
  • Document and track server patching schedules to secure the system.

Required:
  • A minimum of 5 years of IT administration and support experience with Windows administration and server management, with a strong focus on Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, and virtualization.
  • Ability to support clients at multiple worksites in Kansas City. A valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to work well and enjoy a fast-paced and often high-pressure environment.
  • Strong understanding of DNS, LDAP, Kerberos authentication, and NTLM.
  • Prior experience in a managed service environment or technical consulting with problem-solving expertise in Windows-based solutions.
  • Experience managing Microsoft networks including the administration of Server 2012 through 2019 technologies including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and Group Policy.
  • Experience resolving technical issues of Microsoft's core business applications including O365, Teams, One Drive, Exchange Administration and MDM.
  • Experience with cloud technologies is highly preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of backup solutions and network storage solutions.
  • Basic understanding of WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security
  • Core understanding of information security best practices and networking fundamentals.
  • Prior Tier 2 and 3 desktop support experience.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
