In accordance with Assets, Inc. core values and mission, this position contributes to the success of the contract by performing a variety of dishwashing and dining facility attendant tasks as specified.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Adheres to and demonstrates Assets, Inc. core values and mission in the performance of all aspects of this position.
  2. Provides direct labor in accordance with outlined OSHA safety standards and as required by site management.
  3. Manually or mechanically washes and rinses dishes, glasses and silverware; maintains proper temperature for sterilization and adds cleaning solutions as needed.
  4. Utilizes a dish machine by filling the dish rack and breaking it down for cleaning and de-liming.
  5. Operates a dish machine processing soiled wares from carts onto racks on a conveyer belt.
  6. Sort dishes/silverware by size and type.
  7. Perform additional dining facility attendant duties. This includes, but is not limited to the following: ensuring dining area is clean, busing tables, wiping down counters, sweeping, mopping , cleaning kitchen hoods and fixtures, grease traps, doors, windows, mats, replenish and prepare self service areas, replenish wares, and vacuuming, etc.
  8. Able to satisfactorily complete food handler training and other company required trainings.
  9. Actively participates in company/site required meetings and trainings.
  10. Maintain a proactive relationship with customers and coworkers.
  11. Be familiar with and follow all policies set forth by Assets, Inc.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:Food Service Sanitation knowledge, prior experience washing dishes and/or performing janitorial work strongly preferred.

Language Skills: Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Must have an insured vehicle and current Alaska driver's license (with no or low points).Must provide copy of driving record, proof of insurance at time of hire. Must be able to comply with the Joint Base Elmendorf/Richardson regulations regarding transportation. Must be able to pass a criminal background check under state regulations and able to obtain security clearance to worksite for security requirements.
Desired Skills and Abilities
  1. Understanding of OSHA safety standards.
  2. Ability to interpret MSDS materials.
  3. Working knowledge of industry standard equipment.
  4. Able to deal tactfully and pleasantly with customers.
  5. Understanding of and willingness to work side by side with individuals who experience disabilities.
  6. Willing to work a varied schedule.
  7. Ability to respond to needs of team/site.
