Responsibilities:

  • Have a clear understanding of the SCHEELS brand, marketing strategy and culture
  • Serve the community through volunteer efforts, responding to customer service inquiries and leading the donation process
  • Assist in creating an annual marketing campaign that promotes customer engagement with SCHEELS products and first-class in-store experiences
  • Assist in identifying local community outreach opportunities
  • Serve as a representative for SCHEELS at community events by upholding the highest standards in conduct and appearance
  • Evaluate effectiveness of marketing initiatives and recap events to develop a plan for improvement
  • Execute events to drive sales, traffic and community good-will
  • Ability to manage an annual budget
  • Coordinate schedules, organize materials, book venues and services while working within a planned budget
  • Provide project status updates to the store leader and leadership team
  • Welcome, greet and address customers in a friendly and courteous manner while providing prompt and outstanding service
  • Identify opportunities to share the SCHEELS story
  • Serve as the store liaison with Corporate Marketing Office to maximize and align marketing strategies
  • Ability to multi-task and simultaneously handle coordination of several events in various stages
  • Experience in marketing; and ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Exercise sound judgment and tact as it relates to interactions with consumers, SCHEELS associates and the community
  • Strong oral/ written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with external audiences
  • Be professional in appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere and treat others with respect and consideration while following all SCHEELS policies and procedures
  • Ability to work assigned schedule which may include varied hours, evening, weekends and holidays; some travel, including overnight stays

Education & Experience:

Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor's degree in mass communications, hospitality/tourism management, marketing, advertising, sport management, or have practical experience related fields. Candidates should possess an eye for detail and be able to effectively and simultaneously handle the coordination of several events in their various stages of development.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Schedule:

This is a full time position, typically scheduled 40 hours per week Monday-Friday.Schedule adjustments will be made to attend planned SCHEELS events on evenings or weekends and attend SCHEELS Marketing training each year.
