SENIOR QUALITY MANAGER
EL PASO, TX


The Quality Manager reports to the Quality Regional Manager and is responsible for coordinating and directing the safe, efficient, and economical quality operations of Lear, El Paso. The Quality Manager plans, coordinates, and directs quality programs designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards personally or through subordinate staff members.

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Establishes Quality standards and guidelines for manufactured products and processes.
  • Quality Awareness /Right to Know.
  • Compliance with the policies and procedures of Quality, Environment and work standards of Lear Corporation. Ensure compliance with the Quality System and specific customer requirements, as well as manuals and procedures. Likewise, compliance with the requirements of standards such as IATF16949, SOX system.
  • Develops subordinates and administers human resources programs as they relate to performance, utilization of training resources, and the application of company policies and procedures for Quality group; includes periodic involvement in the hiring of employees.
  • Develops, manage and is accountable for operating within constraints of approved operating budget.
  • Establish planning, leadership, and consultative support for the implementation of key customer quality systems.
  • Develop the performance of the Quality Operating System's key indicators to meet our customer satisfaction requirements.
  • Develop and lead proper integration and connectivity of Process Flows, FMEA's, Control Plans.
  • Oversee Global Quality Reporting and support/review plant MOS Monthly reporting.
  • Represents the "voice of the customer" in product quality and quality system matters with customers and suppliers.
  • Directs Quality personnel in fulfilling assigned responsibilities.
  • Oversees and directs all plant Quality activities and laboratory testing functions.
  • Supports advanced quality plans to ensure effective product launches.
  • Oversees and ensures the cleanliness, safety, and security of the Quality Department's physical facilities.
  • Initiates, implements, and maintains systems in compliance with customer and TS16949 standards.
  • Carries out assigned functions described in Policies, Procedures, and Quality Manuals.
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Make recommendations, plans, and suggestions that promote continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Follow systems for TS16949 and ISO14001REQUIREMENTS
  • Understanding of SPC. Use SPC software entry, analyze and print
  • Understanding of Capability Studies. Use of software, entry, analyze and print
  • Understanding of Gage Studies. Conduct Gage Studies, use software, entry, analyze and print.
  • Create end of month charts as directed.
  • Oversee Hold /EPC-GP-12 Areas and all pertinent documentation.
  • Issue and follow-up on internal/external CAR's.
  • Maintain Calibration System.
  • Understanding of the identification of Special Characteristics and Product Safety Items
  • Full Authority to stop production and / or shipments.
  • Responsibility of APQP deliverables for Quality.
  • Understanding of problem solving and various tools to facilitate problem solving
  • Understand PPAP requirements. Prepare, submit and track PPAP's
  • Use of customer portals (GM supply Power, Vitesco Supply On, Yazaki, etc.)
  • Lead activities to reduce RPPM's, DPPM's, IPPM's, dock audit PPM's and sorting costs
  • Be the customer representative in the plant, monitoring scorecards and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Identify needs and define training programs for the personnel under your charge and promote their development by supporting development and training programs.
  • Ensure compliance and execution of all financial auditable procedures (SOX/FOA)
  • Develop periodic performance evaluations of the personnel in your charge
  • Actively participate in Quality walks
  • Oversee advanced quality planning and evaluate the performance of the statistical quality control system
Your Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years Management experience in a Quality position
  • Quality management experience/working relationship with OEM customer
  • IATF lead auditor certification
  • BS degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in Automotive Industry, experience in quality field.
  • Ability to work with others in a professional manner.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and housekeeping skills.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
