The Director of Human Resources must possess strong interpersonal skills and is expected to have a proactive and visible role at LMN. LMN employees collaborate in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Mondays and Fridays are flexible workdays that allow employees to work in the office, from home, or any other location they choose. Monday-Friday core work hours of 9:30-4:00 allow employees to determine what working hours best suit their personal commitments, commuting, and work preference.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with LMN’s overall business strategy.

Recruitment and Staffing: Oversee recruitment and hiring efforts, coordinate staff on and off-boarding, and assist the staffing team in meeting internal staffing needs.

Personal and Professional Development: Facilitate staff training, mentorship, continuing education, path to licensure, knowledge sharing and leadership skills.

Staff Performance: Develop and implement programs to enhance employee skills and competencies. Coordinate performance reviews, one-on-one meetings, staff coaching, maintain LMN’s job band compensation framework, and support alignment of staff skills and goals with project assignments.

Compensation and Benefits: Participate in compensation evaluations and oversee the administration of LMN’s benefit program in collaboration with LMN’s accounting group. Conduct research to ensure competitive compensation and benefits packages.

Culture: Contribute to LMN’s commitment to community, diversity, equity, transparency, and retention.

Advise Leadership: Support the managing partner and firm leadership by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decision-making guidance.

Office Policies: Guide firm management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating the firm employee handbook and policies.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations with knowledge of legal requirements and industry trends.

Immigration: Assist staff with visas, green cards, and other immigration needs.

HR Policy Development: Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures that comply with applicable laws and regulations. Communicate policies and procedures to employees and ensure understanding and compliance.

HR Administration: Oversee HR administration functions. Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of HR records and information.

Key Competencies and Skills

Innovative thinker with independent initiative to resolve diverse challenges.

Demonstrated ability to build positive consensus from differing perspectives and priorities.

Capability to foster a spirit of excellence, motivating staff to understand how their work contributes to project and firm goals.

Qualifications

Relevant BS/BA degree required.

Demonstrated success developing, coaching, and mentoring individuals and teams.

Competence with Microsoft Office required.
