We stop at nothing because we're the kind of people who give everything.Exciting and Challenging WorkAs an Organ Procurement Coordinator (OPC), you will play a crucial role in maximizing organ donation. You will be responsible for the evaluation, optimization and allocation of organs to ensure that donation is maximized for the waiting recipients and our selfless donor families. This dynamic role involves close collaboration with healthcare professionals, logistical coordination, and direct involvement in the organ procurement processes.What You'll DoAutonomously manage the clinical care of donor heroesIncluding managing donor lab values, hemodynamics, and ventilation to ensure organ viabilityPerform critical procedures like bronchoscopies, central line placement, and liver biopsies to both evaluate and optimize organ functionManage organ allocation according to UNOS and Mid-America Transplant policiesEnsure close collaboration with transplant centers and surgeonsCoordinate OR times and facilitate communication with transplant center staff during organ procurement proceduresFacilitate organ and tissue placements for research projectsHave a voice on matters of Process Improvement EndeavorsWhat You'll BringRegistered Nurse with either 2+ years of ER experience OR 1+ years of ICU experience requiredAn eagerness to learn new skills and work in a totally new environmentExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to work in high-pressure situations and make critical decisionsProficiency in using clinical equipment and medical documentation systemsBLS or ACLS Certifications; PALS Certification a plusSchedule OptionsWEEKEND DAYS Option. This position works the following:Friday, Saturday, Sunday 12-hour on-call shifts (7a-7p) and two 12-hour on-call shifts within a 28-day rotationWEEKEND NIGHTS Option.
