Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a warehouse/shop setting.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including a flexible schedule for auditing and training purposes.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance.
  • Dependable with a positive attitude and effective teamwork skills.
Typical Daily Responsibilities:
  • Manage inventory control and metrics in a 24/7 shop environment, which includes:
    • Pulling and issuing materials to specific locomotives, ensuring accurate tracking (position, serial number, removal reason, service sheet).
    • Managing stockouts and updating estimated arrival times for parts.
    • Performing daily cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
    • Forecasting material needs and procuring supplies in a timely, cost-effective manner.
    • Conducting quality control on inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with company standards and resolving discrepancies.
    • Arranging LTL and Expedite shipments via the Ryder portal, ensuring accurate documentation and billing.
    • Utilizing various software programs for ordering, receiving, shipping, and tracking materials, including hazardous materials.
    • Interpreting mechanical drawings to identify required materials.
    • Operating forklifts, including daily inspections.
    • Generating reports on inventory metrics.
    • Managing repair cycle assets, processing sales of material, and restocking supplies.
    • Maintaining warehouse organization and cleanliness.
    • Processing warranty claims for eligible materials.
    • Conducting daily counts of large commodity assets and verifying details.
    • Responding to material requests from service shops and ensuring proper transaction and shipping procedures.
    • Ensuring proper use of safety equipment.
    • Handling materials transactions, assembling orders, and assisting with physical inventory counts.
Physical Demands:
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Walking on hard and uneven surfaces.
  • Regular use of stairs and climbing on/off locomotives.
  • Navigating small or confined spaces.
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment throughout the day.
  • Typing and operating computers.
  • Occasional overnight shifts and extended work periods.
  • Additional duties as required, with appropriate training provided.
