Supervise the shipping and receiving of goods into the Vantage Oleochemicals Warehouse. This includes receipts into the warehouse from suppliers and the production department, the management and requisitioning of all supplies and services needed to run the warehouse, inventory record keeping, management of inventory within the warehouse, carrier scheduling and shipment of goods out of the warehouse primarily to customers and other storage locations and the scheduling and coordinator and rail coordinator in the absence of either party.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

* Ensure the safety, environmental and housekeeping standards are being adhered to in the warehouse.

* Ensure that all equipment is well maintained and operated in a safe manner.

* Plan, organize and supervise the workload in the operation of receiving, inventory movements and shipments within the warehouse.

* Ensure that warehouse shipments are scheduled, loaded and dispatched accurately and in a timely manner.

* Process all necessary paperwork and computing actions involved in the above stated operation.

* Maintain accurate inventory levels of goods and materials stored in the warehouse.

* Ensure that all inventories are shipped on a FIFO basis wherever possible and that, when necessary, appropriate samples are sent to the laboratory for approval in a timely manner.

* Prepare and issue relevant reports of all operational data pertaining to the warehouse.

* Ensure that problem inventory e.g. Customer rejections and returns, old items damaged goods etc. are brought to the attention of management on a routine basis to expedite disposition of such material.

* Work with the Finishing Supervisor to make sure that scrap material requiring rework is properly controlled and managed.

* Communicate any and all problems with warehouse shipments to the relevant personnel, including the production planner and customer service, as soon as they are known or anticipated.

* Take an active involvement in the company SHE and TQ initiative and facilitate the involvement of subordinates.

* Train and coach subordinates so that they are competent to work in an effective and safe manner.

* In the absence of the Transportation Coordinator schedule all bulk shipments out of the Chicago Plant.

* In the absence of the rail coordinator handle the essential functions of the position, including updating rail-car receipts, preparing daily rail switch and updating purchasing records.

* In the absence of the Finishing Supervisor handle the essential functions of the positions, including the scheduling of the plant flaking operation.

* Schedule and coordinate the third party drumming of finished product.

* Assist the Logistics and Supply Manager with the other distribution/ logistic related functions as directed.

**Qualifications**:

* 5-7 years of experience in warehousing/ distribution

* 2 years minimum supervision experience

* Excellent organizational skills.

* High level of flexibility and detail orientation.

* Must be computer literate.

* Ability to assume greater responsibility.

**Desired**:

* Bachelors degree required or equivalent experience in a related field.
