Air General, a national cargo handling company, is looking for an Operations Manager that will lead our Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) location, where we handle the transfer of cargo to and from our airline clients and their customers. We are seeking an Operations Manager who will focus on continually developing the station team and will be responsible for meeting all airline customer service standards, overseeing all facets of cargo handling. If you are interested in a career with an industry leader, that promotes respect, caring, and equality for our employees in an environment that fosters growth, please consider joining usJob responsibilities include:Organize, coordinate, and control all contract handling services on behalf of the customer, in a safe and efficient manner.Implement procedures designed to meet all customer targets and service requirements.Ensure that handling services do not adversely affect the safe and punctual operation of the customer's flight services.Hire and develop a highly motivated work force.Ensure all necessary training standards are achieved or exceeded.Ensure all TSA Directives and any other security procedures are complied with in accordance with their programs and mandates.Initiate directives and procedures, which will enhance service levels to the customer.Meet regularly with other managers and supervisors to establish constant feedback and action plan for any improvements in service handling.Take prompt corrective actions where service levels are not met.Take the appropriate disciplinary action for breaches of safety, security, violations of company rules or service matters.Ensure all incidents or service complaints are fully investigated. Provide full and concise written reports.Establish a protocol for the handling of employee and administrative matters with the objective of obtaining maximum productivity and performance.Maintain and promote complete integrity of the cargo and mail handling operation.Liaise with customer on a formal and routine basis for feedback on performance. Ensure all reasonable customer requests are carried out.Ensure that bonded cargo is stored in assigned location and that procedures for special cargo, valuable cargo, etc. are in place and adhered to.Meet with customer's clients, as requested, to enhance customer confidence, client rapport, and business integrity.Ensure sensitive commodities (HRs, DGs) are treated with extra supervision from Station Manager level, down to line supervisors.Perform any other duties as directed by the customer or Air General corporate staff.Qualifications:College degree preferred.3-5 years of management experience.5 years minimum Domestic and International air cargo experience required.Proven leadership skills.PC proficiency (MS Office applications).Must be willing to work flexible hours.Must have valid driver license.Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings, background checks, and airport/government security background checks.Must be able to pass a drug test.Must be able to obtain valid airport I.D. badge.Must be able to push, pull or lift up to 70lbs.Must be at least 18 years of age.Must be able to clearly understand and communicate in English when performing essential job functions.Compensation - This is a salary/exempt role. Salary will be based on current market conditions and commensurate with candidate experience.
