Job Summary:

Raytheon currently has an exciting IT systems administrator position available that supports a highly skilled VMware Administrator who can thrive in a collaborative, multi-platform environment while holding a Top Secret security clearance due to the nature of the classified data involved. The candidate's responsibilities cover a broad spectrum of crucial tasks, ranging from foundational server and storage management to intricate aspects like cross-platform authentication and VDI infrastructure support.

Duties include, but are not limited to, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation move support.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as proficiency in virtualization technologies like VMware. The administrator must be adept at troubleshooting and problem-solving in a dynamic and heterogeneous environment, ensuring smooth operation and security compliance across the board.
  • Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
  • Understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies. Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
  • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours
Basic Qualifications:
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Typically, requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Experience with some of, but not limited to, the following technologies: Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, BackupExec, NetBackup, prior systems administration and networking administration experience, Windows or Linux administration, backup, and recovery enterprise suites.
  • Experience with Server architectures and troubleshooting methods and be able to assist in developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems
  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, Windows desktops (Windows XP, 7, 10), Splunk and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF
  • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions
  • Experience with vCenter and hands-on experience with VMware's vSphere suite.
  • Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SCCM, and/or Exchange
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment
  • Experience with Splunk, VMWare, SolarWinds, Ansible, Sentris, RSA, Thales, or TGS is a plusScripting Experience

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
