Description

What You'll Do as an Assistant Store Manager:
  • Support the Store Manager in inspiring your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences, driving sales, and consistently achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Assist in building a high-performing, diverse team by participating in hiring and onboarding processes and setting clear goals and expectations.
  • Coach and mentor PCAs (Personal Care Associates) to help them build skills, confidence, and achieve outstanding results.
  • Address any performance or operational issues promptly, providing coaching and guidance to team members to foster growth and ensure alignment with company standards.
  • Contribute to team development by assisting with training programs and leveraging individual strengths to unlock potential.
  • Support payroll forecasting efforts to optimize productivity, ensuring the team meets sales and payroll targets while managing workloads efficiently.
  • Help oversee profit and loss (P&L), driving revenue growth and assisting with solutions to improve underperforming areas.
  • Stay informed on market trends, sharing insights with the Store Manager and team to refine strategies and improve results.
  • Maintain operational excellence by assisting in delegating tasks effectively, supporting brand standards, and ensuring smooth execution of company initiatives.
  • Promote accountability and adaptability within the team, ensuring the store responds quickly to shifts in the retail landscape.
  • Safeguard company assets by supporting compliance with safety protocols, inventory controls, and loss prevention procedures while adhering to regulations.
  • Assist with inventory management by analyzing trends, maintaining appropriate stock levels, and streamlining ordering processes to avoid shortages or overstock.
  • Step in to support the Store Manager and perform additional responsibilities as assigned to contribute to business success.
Requirements
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of leadership experience, preferably in retail or a similar fast-paced environment.
    • Proven ability to drive sales and meet performance targets.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and team-building skills with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and development.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and resolve conflicts effectively.
    • Exceptional customer service mindset with the ability to lead by example.
    • Organizational skills to manage priorities, delegate tasks, and oversee daily operations.
    • Analytical abilities to review sales data, identify trends, and support business growth strategies.
    • Adaptability and problem-solving skills to navigate a fast-changing retail environment.
    • Attention to detail with a focus on compliance, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management, and retail technology.
    • Basic understanding of financial metrics such as profit and loss (P&L) and payroll forecasting.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
    • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks in a retail environment.
    • Commitment to compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (especially in regulated industries like cannabis, if applicable).
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business or related fields is a plus.
