JOB SUMMARY:
The Building Performance Engineer will be responsible for a range of building energy and performance projects and services. They will manage and perform building tune ups, field and monitoring-based commissioning projects, building analytic services and software, utility and interval data analysis, energy assessments and audits, EnergyStar certifications, measurement and verification, and energy project development support.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- High performance control sequence development and optimization
- Field Commissioning
- Monitoring-Based Commissioning
- Building data analysis and review
- Utility and meter data analysis
- Energy assessments/audit field work and report writing
- Measurement & Verification planning, monitoring, and reporting
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Energy Engineering support
- Data visualizations
- Fault Detection software deployment and analysis
- Proven analytical skills
- Excellent interactive and communication skills
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills
- Experience with electronics and basic electrical circuits
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised
- Ability to manage own schedule, time, and projects
This position requires a combination of working in an office environment and routine visits to project jobsites up to 50% of working hours. Project jobsites present typical construction and outdoor conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment for safety purposes. Lifting and exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds more frequently is required. Must be comfortable climbing a ladder infrequently.
POSITION TYPE AND HOURS
- Full-time, exempt
- Typical Monday - Friday working hours with flexibility as needed
- Local travel required up to 30% of the time with occasional out-of-state travel
- Engineering undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with standard ASHRAE energy calculations
- CEM or PE, or the ability to obtain
- Knowledge and experience with Building Mechanical Systems and High-Performance Sequences
- Solid understanding of Energy Management and DDC Control theory and applications.
- Understanding of lighting, building ventilation requirements, and renewables.
