Job Description
POSITION AVAILABLE: Department (Transportation) Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Sundries Center- Transportation
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily billing runs for warehouse to include changing routing of outbound loads if necessary
Prepare and print all paperwork for daily selection/replenishment in warehouse
Check store orders prior to billing to identify problems with load sizes, missing orders, etc.
Track stores that are not meeting Order Entry guidelines. Communicate problems to management
Aid in the Management of Seasonal/Special orders
Perform routine procedures under the supervision of experienced Operations staff and special projects as assigned
Follows operational procedures to troubleshoot and resolve problems
Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with others
Back-up for Transportation
Other duties as assigned
SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Experience in a distribution or shipping role preferred
Knowledge of general computer concepts and principles. Possess ability to operate a variety of computer equipment
Personal computer experience required
Must be capable of working with little or no direct supervision
Must be available to work weekends, nights, holidays, and off hours as requested
Possess good organizational skills and attention to detail
Work environment is characterized by normal office conditions in a temperature controlled environment. Incumbent will sit at a desk or computer terminal part of the day and walk throughout the facility to deliver reports and printouts.
