Roadrunner Veterinary Emergency and Specialty is the only ER consistently open 24/7 in New Mexico (we never close) and the only ER that is 100% privately owned. We're open and transparent in all that we do. We promote excellent medical care for all our our patients through extensive CE and ongoing learning opportunities for all of our staff members.
We're owned by a single owner who's a practicing DVM in our hospital. We're a values based hospital which, simply put, means that how we treat each other, how we treat our clients and how we make our decisions are based on our core values, not on money, impulsive emotions or other factors. Our values remain the same over time so what you see is what you get- it won't change once you sign on or down the road. We have management in the building 7 days a week so we're able to see and address concerns quickly.
Our whole team recognizes that we can't do this job without veterinary technicians and all of our management and doctors respect and honor the vet tech profession. We utilize a tech tiering system to assess skills, pay fairly according to skills and experience and to help establish a plan for ongoing career growth. *Benefits include: *
* Generous pay. Our daytime tech pay range is $22-26/hour and overnight techs make $23-29/hour based on experience. We will match all other hospitals' offers for qualified applicants
* 100% paid health insurance premium. We offer fully paid health insurance for all full-time staff. This is something we've done long-term and something we continue to provide.
* CE stipend of $3000/year for all staff, not just doctors. We support lifelong learning and want to enable our colleagues to grow professionally and personally. We also offer in-house training such as Recover CPR, on the job training with doctors who enjoy teaching and local CE courses.
* Paid parental leave after being with our hospital for one year.
* Opportunities to attend cultural and sporting events. Albuquerque and the surrounding area offer many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, theater and sporting events and we enjoy sharing these experiences with all of our staff members.

* Generous sign on bonus of $2500 for daytime technicians and $5000 for overnight techs. New hires who prove to be a great fit will be given a sign on bonus while our loyal, long-term team members receive a retention bonus.
* Relocation allowance of up to $5000 each for qualified applicants.
We're moving into a new 14,000 sq ft building, designed by a veterinary-specific architect and builder, in late 2024 We'll have a large treatment area and separate ICU, conference room, 11 exam rooms, multiple private ER and specialist doctor offices and a CT.
Albuquerque is a vibrant city with 4 distinct seasons and numerous outdoor activities within an hour drive. We're diverse politically, socially and culturally but almost everyone is welcoming and embraces our differences.
