About The Role

Livepeer is on a mission to build the world's open video infrastructure. We want to push the boundaries of open video technology, driven by a thriving community of media innovators and disruptors; and we need your help to make that happen.

As the Program Manager, you will lead the execution of core programs - grants, hackathons, and bounties - that will grow our builder community, drive the creation of innovative projects and reward active contributors driving demand on the Livepeer network.

You will be responsible for running the end-to-end execution of key projects including: working closely with builders to develop their projects or hacks; coordinating internal team members; integrating key program partners; and showcasing the most successful projects to the wider community.

It should be noted that this is a full-time, 6-month contractor role with the potential to join the team full-time in the long run.

Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for each program, ensuring there is clear financial reporting.
  • Track, report and communicate the success of our programs, working with our Marketing Lead ensure successful grant recipients are showcased regularly.
  • Manage the grant application process from submission to approval, communicating to accepted applicants, and following up where necessary.
  • Pre-evaluate grant proposals based on predefined criteria, to support the decision-making process of the grants committee.
  • Work with grantees to track project milestones, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with grant terms.
  • Make continuous improvements to the grants process, integrating new tools and partners.
  • Plan and execute hackathons to drive developer engagement, product feedback and top of funnel builder activity.
  • Help define hackathon themes, challenges, and judging criteria in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.
  • Coordinate logistics with local events teams including venue selection, participant registration, and prize distribution.
Requirements

Must have:
  • You have a minimum 2 years of work experience in Business Operations or Partnerships, with minimum 1 year running builder-focused programs in web3.
  • You are high energy, eager to expand your network, and happy to speak in front of large groups.
  • You possess outstanding interpersonal skills, feel comfortable collaborating in cross-functional pods and are always open to learning.
  • You have a hacker mindset: you quickly identify and solve problems with minimum viable products.
  • You are entrepreneurial: your determination and resilience enable you to overcome challenges and drive results.
  • You are aligned with Livepeer's mission and desire to be the home for video innovation and disruption, with an interest in the creator economy.
  • You are interested in the intersection of web3 and AI, with knowledge about blockchains, decentralised infrastructure and the future of compute.
  • You are well-organised, punctual to meetings, and can highlight signal from noise when looking at complex problems or large data sets.
  • You have experience working in startups, and have previously participated in hackathons or received grants yourself.

  • Experience with building and participating in onchain communities that are focused on creating public goods and funding builders.

  • Basic programming knowledge (machine learning, video infra)

Application Process

This process takes 2-3 weeks approximately:

  2. 30-minute initial interview with Rich, Ecosystem Operations Lead.
  3. 60-minute B2B 2nd interviews with Shann, Head of Growth & Sarah, VP Finance & Operations.
  4. Written take-home case study
  5. Final 1-hour interview presenting case study with Doug, Founder & Rich, Ecosystem Operations Lead


Compensation
  • 6-month, full-time contract
  • $6k-$9k per month, based on experience & location
  • Token bonus based on successful completion
  • Up to 12 vacation days for contract period
