As part of a diverse and hardworking team of technicians, you will assist with the setup of the production work areas, including layouts, tooling and equipment setup for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of transition from development to production. You will manufacture, assemble, and test structural flight hardware assemblies according to written procedures and engineering models, drawings, specifications. You will be responsible to operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations and other ground support equipment as required. Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, height gauges and optical measuring instruments. You will perform second party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedure.

Qualifications
  • 0-2+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or other relevant field
  • Manual or Automated Welding Process Experience.
  • Ability to work with small hardware components and attention to detail.
  • Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions and test procedures
  • Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, disciplines, and backgrounds
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person
  • Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD
  • A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances
  • Ability to support Monday-Friday work schedule, work off-shift, extended hours overtime, and weekends if/when necessary
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
  • Must be able to work second shift (Monday through Thursday 3 pm - 1:30 am) OR weekend shift (Friday through Sunday 5 am - 6 pm)
Desired

  • Experience in handling large aerospace components
  • Experience in assembling large tight-tolerance structures
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
