The Office of Population Affairs’ (OPA’s) Title X Family Planning Program is the only federal grant program dedicated to providing comprehensive family planning and related preventive health services. Since 2014, The Family Health Centers of Georgia, Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Atlanta, Georgia, has been awarded funding from OPA to administer the statewide Title X family planning program, Georgia Family Planning System (GFPS).

GFPS ensures that women, men, and adolescents have access to high-quality, affordable, and evidence-based family planning and primary care services. Our approach fully-integrates family planning services into primary care settings. Through GFPS eligible clients have access to a broad range of contraceptives, pregnancy testing & counseling, and STI & HIV screening, regardless of the department where they are seeking services: Family Practice, OB/GYN, Adult & Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Behavioral Health.

The Georgia Family Planning System (GFPS) Training Coordinator is primarily responsible for assessing the local, regional, and statewide training needs of the GFPS network and ensuring compliance with Title X and GFPS training requirements. Coordinator also manages, designs, develops, coordinates, and conducts all network training programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct network-wide training needs assessments and identify skills or knowledge gaps.

Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including in-person trainings, web-based modalities, and on-the-job coaching/technical assistance.

Collaborate with program staff and liaise with experts regarding instructional design.

Organize, develop, and/or source evidence-based training resources and materials to meet the training needs of the network.

Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.

Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on skills and KPIs.

Collaborate with Program Administrative Assistant to coordinate logistics for training activities.

Stay up to date on new training methods.

Assist in the development and/or modification of program guidelines, policies, and procedures.

Contribute to proposals, papers, and conference submissions.

Represent GFPS at local, regional, and federal meetings.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1 year of training facilitation experience.

Proven ability to complete a full training cycle (e.g., PDSA).

Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and e-learning platforms.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to be organized, multitask, work independently, and be solutions oriented.

Knowledge of family planning and primary care service delivery systems.
