Position Purpose

The primary responsibility of the Senior Accountant - TireBuyer is to assist in the preparation of the companys monthly financial statements, including routine accounting entries, and ensuring proper reconciliation of general ledger accounts to assist in delivering timely and accurate financial data and statements to senior management as well as external and internal auditors. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accounting of fixed assets, bank reconciliations, monthly journal entries, filing of state tire disposal taxes, and monthly reporting as required.**Primary Responsibilities**

* Prepare and load monthly journal entries into finance system

* Maintain reconciliations and amortization of certain prepaid expenses and related journal entries

* Ensure proper reconciliation of general ledger accounts by creating monthly reconciliations including review/development of account support and proposed corrections and adjustments

* Prepare monthly bank reconciliations

* Assist in fixed asset accounting

* Prepare and file state tire disposal tax forms ensuring accuracy and timeliness

+ Assist with research of accounting guidance as needed

* Assist in delivering timely and accurate financial data/statements to senior management and external/internal auditors

* Assist with the recording of judgmental reserves & estimates, account eliminations, and normal/routine accounting entries

* Assist with annual year-end audit by external auditors

* Help facilitate timely and accurate ad hoc reporting requirements including miscellaneous information requests from senior management and other functional departments

* Assist in the development and continued performance of a proper internal control environment around the general ledger function
