We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Quality Control Supervisor. This role is based in our facility in Lynchburg, Virginia and reports to the Quality Control Manager.

Job Summary

The Quality Control Supervisor will Supervise and coordinate Quality Department shift personnel and daily activities to ensure product testing complies with established policies and procedures. Assist Quality Manager with administrative activities, internal/external audits, third party certifications, controlled document management, and control of nonconforming product. Perform these activities while ensuring and maximizing safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping, and cost control to achieve plant goals.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Conduct annual performance reviews for subordinates and provide coaching and counseling as required.
  • Conduct weekly team meetings in Health, Safety and Environmental and Production Priorities.
  • Ensure subordinates receive job specific training, and maintains required training in areas of Quality.
  • Participate in shift transition meetings daily to identify variances and develop corrective actions.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Identify areas of quality improvement and implement new methods accordingly.
  • Responsibly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Must be eager to learn, self-motivated to work independently and have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Other duties as the need arises and/or assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Four year degree in Manufacturing Management or related degree or 5 years equivalent experience.
  • A basic working knowledge of injection molding process.
  • Excellent leadership/management, written & verbal communication, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • A strong working knowledge of computers using word processing, spreadsheets and outlook.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, conflict resolution and leadership skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot, make decisions to support the achievement of company goals.
  • Ability to solve problems where only limited standardization exists and interpret a variety of instructions.
Working Conditions:
  • Employee may be exposed to minimal hazards in the work environment, such as chemicals, commercial products, exposure to potential toxins, moving machinery, repetitive motion, excessive noise, and powered industrial vehicle fork/reach/ bucket lift/other.
  • Employee will be required to perform a minimal level of specific tasks such as lifting (50lb. maximum), muscular action, body movements, working positions, posture changes while maintaining visual attentiveness.
  • Maybe occasionally be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels
  • Employee will be required to wear protective eyewear, laboratory coat, appropriate gloves, hearing protection, respiratory protection, safety shoes, hard hat, and/or other.
  • Employee may experience changing work priorities, deadlines, accuracy, quotas, and conflicting demands.
