About the Department and/or College The Texas Tech University College of Education, with over 2,000 students, offers a nationally recognized undergraduate teacher preparation program and 21 graduate degrees that prepare students for professional or academic positions in education. Major/Essential Functions Identifying funding opportunities relevant to the college's needs and objectives. This involves researching and monitoring grant offerings from government agencies, foundations, and private entities that support educational initiatives. Facilitating collaborations among faculty members, helping to form teams that can apply for interdisciplinary, larger and more complex grants. Leading and supporting faculty in conceptualizing research studies, ensuring high-quality implementation, and defining and measuring outcomes for educational research at the federal, state, and local levels. Assisting faculty in crafting clear and persuasive narratives. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English, journalism or related field. Six years experience in proposal/technical writing. Education and experience can exchange on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Qualifications Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, verbal, and interpersonal skills Excellent computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel) Proficiency in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data Knowledge of grant application process, scoring criteria, and funding cycles Ability to identify and evaluate potential funding sources Ability to work effectively under pressure Thrives in a dynamic, fast paced environment while managing many simultaneous projects Grant writing experience, with an education focus (e.g., special education, educational leadership, educational psychology, counselor education, curriculum & instruction, STEM education, language and literacy, bilingual education, educational technology, teacher education) Previous state or federal grant applications, submission, approval, and management Proven track record of securing new funding opportunities Highly organized with the ability to implement a tracking system for funding opportunities Safety Information Adherence to robust safety practices and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations are responsibilities of all TTU employees.
