What We're Looking For:
Barge Design Solutionsis currently seeking to fill the position of Aviation Project Engineer(PE) in the Panama City, FL or Dothan, Birmingham, AL locations.

Responsibilities:
  • Engineering lead for airport projects to include runway, taxiway, access road, drainage improvement and pavement rehabilitation projects
  • Design and construction oversight for general aviation clients
  • Collaborating with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to resolve a variety of complex problems
  • Coordination with clients and funding agencies
  • Supervises the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project
  • Prepares and reviews technical reports, drawings, plans, specifications, and permits for projects
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
  • Prepares cost estimates for assigned projects
  • Oversees construction projects, conducts project site visits, reviews contractor's submittals, pay applications, etc.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills; works independently on multiple tasks without immediate supervision
  • Builds and maintains excellent interpersonal relationships
Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Minimum of 5 years of Civil Engineering or aviation related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alabama and Florida, or an ability to obtain within 6 months of start date, is required
  • Experience using MicroStation V8i and/or AutoCad; Civil3D experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices and techniques, and prepared to assume responsible charge for project designs
  • Skill using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
