Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at McDonough District Hospital. As a key member of our Cardiopulmonary Department, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for disorders of the respiratory, cardiac, and vascular systems.
Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Leader of Cardiopulmonary, you will provide diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for disorders of the respiratory, cardiac, and vascular systems.
You will collaborate with the medical staff and other healthcare professionals to develop a plan of care for the patient and plan education of the patient and family members regarding procedures of the Cardiopulmonary Department.
You will be responsible for the complete cardiac echo on adults.
Requirements
You must have a minimum of two years of experience in a related field.
You must be able to scan adult patients.
Ability to scan pediatric patients is a plus, but not required.
Work Environment
You will be working in a fast-paced hospital environment, interacting with patients and their families, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff to develop patient care plans, and interacting with other hospital staff for services, supplies, and other related functions.
Physical Demands
You will be required to push the ultrasound machine for portable studies and position the ultrasound transducer in awkward positions for lengthy exams.
Education and Experience
You must be a graduate of an approved school of an Allied Health Field with additional training in ultrasound procedures.
Job Knowledge
You must have knowledge of anatomy of the cardiac and vascular systems and ultrasound physics and instrumentation.
