as the Software Development Manager , you will lead our team of Full Stack Engineers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in software development, a proven track record of managing multiple projects, and the leadership ability to deliver projects on time while mentoring a diverse group of developers and expanding the team. Oversee the full stack engineering team, ensuring all projects align with company goals and client expectations. Act as a technical lead, providing guidance and expertise in software development best practices. Recruit and mentor staff to grow the team's capability and their individual talent. Review product requirements and feature requests, providing development effort estimates and risk assessments to senior management. Influence architectural decisions, design/code reviews, test plans and technology strategy. Manage multiple concurrent projects to deliver committed features on time. Foster an environment of continuous improvement in software engineering practices and product quality in terms of performance, scalability, availability and flexibility. Work closely with other software development teams as well as product line management, quality assurance (QA), technical support and external contractors. Mediate conflicts between individual contributors or between contributors and directors. They ensure that issues are resolved in a way that maintains team harmony and productivity. The Must Haves: Familiar with Linux development environment Knowledge of network routers/switches and the networking industry Experience in open-source software development Familiarity with cloud native application development Experience with distributed systems, Java, Python based micro-services Familiarity with React based UI frameworks. Familiarity with GraphQL API is a plus Familiarity with BPMN, business processes, and Workflow Automation and Management. Familiarity with Ciena Hardware and Solutions is a plus. Assets: Key Competencies & Skills Bachelor's degree in electronics and communications engineering, computer engineering or computer science and 8 years of experience in a software development role, in the networking domain. 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role and/or people management role. A strong portfolio of successfully managed projects, showcasing on-time delivery. Proficient in modern software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices.
