In this role you will help your production team achieve maximum efficiency by hiring, training, and directing team members while advancing your career and enjoying U-Haul's excellent benefits.Primary Responsibilities:•Ensure the efficient management of the metal fabrication operations of a multiple shift facility.•Optimize efficiency, productivity, and equipment performance to meet objectives.•Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods. Suggest changes to working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.•Develop capital equipment justification for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost and cycle times.•Responsible for meeting all quality standards, production schedules, and delivery requirements.•Identify barriers to meeting production goals and help develop and implement improvement plans.•Coordinate production related training including Operator Skills Training, Quality Management System training, and work with the Safety Coordinator to ensure all required safety training is completed on a timely basis.•Responsible for tracking data and meeting production metrics, as well as waste and efficiency percentages.•Act as a leader in terms of continuous improvement and change.•Ensure the product quality standards are met through inspections and material testing procedures.•Analyze data drawn from production reports to identify possible improvements, reduce losses and the number of breakdowns and improve efficiency.•Communicate, implement and apply company policies and procedures.•Other duties as deemed appropriate by Management to support the business plan.Qualifications•6 - 8+ years of experience in a related manufacturing production or operations management position. 4+ years of production supervisory experience in that environment.•Understanding of production processes and controls in a high-volume manufacturing environment.•Must possess strong interpersonal skills to communicate with employees.•Strong communication skills both written and verbal.•Experiences in 5S, Lean and Kaizen would be a plus.•Proficient in Microsoft office, Excel, and PowerPoint.•Must have had prior hands-on experience with SAP or other ERP systems.•Excellent proven leadership and change management skills.•Ability to quickly establish credibility to develop and maintain excellent business relations both internally and externally.•Mechanically inclined with excellent trouble shooting skills.•Strong abilities in planning, organizing, project management, and problem solving.•Able to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends when necessary.•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.U-Haul offers our Team Members:•Full medical coverage •Prescription plans •Dental and vision plans •Registered Dietitian Program •Gym Reimbursement Program •Weight Watchers •Virtual doctor visits •Career stability •Opportunities for advancement •Valuable on-the-job training •Tuition Reimbursement Program •Free online courses for personal and professional development at U-Haul University® •Business-travel insurance •You Matter Employee Assistance Program •Paid holidays, vacation, and sick days •Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) •401(k) savings plan •Life insurance •Critical illness/group accident coverage •24-hour physician available for kids •Met Law Legal Program •MetLife auto and home insurance •Mindset App Program •Discounts on cell phone plans, hotels and more •LifeLock identity theft protection •Savvy consumer-wellness programs - from health-care tips to financial wellness •Dave Ramsey's Smart Dollar Program •U-Haul Federal Credit Union membershipU-Haul is an equal opportunity employer.
