SUMMARY

Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the indoor and outdoor common areas and parking lot of the Center. Weekend availability required. Cleaning experience preferred, however training will occur to develop skills and to meet the high standards of cleanliness to provide customers with a wonderful shopping environment. Best in Utah Team oriented culture. Attention to details and positive work characteristics are recognized with incentive program. See regular weekly schedule below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain all common areas of the center, including the public restrooms and parking lots, to the standards set by company for cleanliness and appearance (removing gum, stains, cigarette butts, paper and debris from ground).
  • Ensure cart if fully stocked at the beginning of shift
  • Support the maintenance staff as directed by the Custodial Supervisor and Operations Director.
  • Perform all duties according to OSHA established health and safety standards.
  • Assist customers as appropriate, always maintaining a positive friendly and helpful attitude.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all safety procedures established for the Center.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area in all custodial storage areas.
  • Insure complete working knowledge and familiarity of all Center Emergency Procedures.
  • Snow shoveling (if necessary).
  • Perform special projects or other duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE: Mon 6pm-10pm, Tues - Thurs OFF, Fri - Sat 3:30pm-10pm, Sun 11:30a-8pm

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (G.E.D.)
  • No experience necessary.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
  • Ability to comprehend instruction.
  • Ability to effectively respond to issues both verbally and in writing.
  • Requires a high level of commitment to customer service.
REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to identify problems and then recommend a resolution.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in writing or verbal.
OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
  • Demonstrate ability to work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to work independently and take initiative.
  • Requires attention to detail.


PHYSICAL and/or MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must possess strength, stamina and mobility by walking to perform physical work out of doors in all weather conditions and with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, use of hands and fingers to pick up trash and clean common areas, ability to push and pull custodial cart, weighing approx. 25-30 pounds, throughout the center, prolonged standing and repetitive bending/lifting/stooping/twisting to pick up trash and clean common areas, move materials weighing up to 30 pounds and heavier weights with the use of proper equipment; vision to read printed materials; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone and/or radio.
