The Manager, Patient Access schedules, leads and mentors Patient Access staff to obtain accurate and timely patient information enabling efficient patient care and appropriate hospital reimbursement.What You’ll Do:Schedules staff for all shifts to ensure adequate coverage, adjusts as necessary to accommodate patient volume.Provide registration support to all areas of the hospital during evening and night hours.Ensures staff receive all training and tools needed to provide excellent service to patients.Collaborates with clinical leadership in respective areas to meet the needs of the patients as well as the organization.Trouble-shoots process and / or system issues.Obtains resolution or escalates as appropriate.Assists with registering patients as needed during peak periods.Ensures staff is trained for emergency and/or disaster situations.Participates in drills as needed.Provides weekly feedback to staff on goal attainment relative to collections and registration quality.Addresses staff performance issues in a timely and professional manner.Prepares and conducts performance reviews.Initiates recognition and disciplinary actions.Conducts staff meetings, maintains attendance records and ensures staff receive necessary education on regulatory and compliance matters.Ensures all forms in the documents table are complete, accurate and updated as needed.Works collaboratively with other revenue cycle staff to address registration quality concerns.Assists in the development of registration policies and procedures and provides feedback when adjustments are necessary.Monitors, manages and reviews efforts of contracted agencies involved with activities such as Medicaid eligibility and enrollment, Marketplace enrollment and collections.Maintains superior knowledge of EMTALA, CMS guidelines, and third-party payer requirements.Ensures staff obtain signed consent and collect appropriate payment amount at time of service.Audits collection records to ensure cash control procedures are being followed.Assists in budget development.Position QualificationsEducation: Bachelors or equivalent experience, required.Experience: 5-7 years in hospital registration or physician office operations, required.Knowledge: Working knowledge of payer rules and governmental payer requirements, required.Skills: Experience in programs for financial charity applications and Epic experience, preferred.Required abilities: Ability to work independently and take initiative.Ability to effectively manage staff.Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with all levels of health system personnel.Ability to prioritize and multi-task.Why You’ll Love Us:Health, dental, prescription, and vision coverage for full-time & part-time employeesShort-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance coverageCompetitive pay and earned time accrual planTuition Reimbursement and career advancement opportunities403(b) Retirement Savings PlanSupplemental benefits, including access to the Welliot Health CenterAnd more#DMOWork Shift:40 hours per weekSolutionHealth is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
