You can help make it possible.Under the guidance of the Supervisor of Anesthesia Support Services, provides support to the anesthesia clinicians in all anesthetizing locations. Ensures that all equipment and supplies are available and assists with direct patient care activities; assembles, cleans and maintains equipment and supplies for Anesthesiology to ensure safe and efficient operation.Essential Job Duties:Follows essential job duties under the Anesthesia Technician roleMay be assigned by Supervisor to assist with providing guidance and direction to other Anesthesia Techs.Updates EMR system with applicable staffing rotation data. Under the guidance of the Supervisor, trains newly hired Anesthesia Technicians effectively in the procedures of the department and pertinent hospital policies.Orients existing employees to new procedures and/or changes in existing procedures.Assists in staff workflow regarding the care and maintenance of anesthesia equipment; provides technical assistance for evaluation of anesthesia equipment when neededAssists in ensuring equipment are regularly in collaboration with Biomedical Services; ensures periodic tests are performed on anesthesia equipment in accordance with hospital policy.Assists in maintaining documentation for preventive maintenance performance of anesthesia equipment.Acts as liaison with Biomed and Pharmacy Departments to maintain standards of supplies and coordination of activities.Assists in the communication of departmental goals and objectives and assists in the development/updating of policies and procedures.Participates in departmental projects as assigned.Performs other job related duties as assigned. This position is located at NYP/Weill Cornell. This position will work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and the shift will be 11am-9pm. Preferred CriteriaASATT certificationRequired CriteriaHigh School Diploma or GEDTraining as an Anesthesia TechnicianFive years' experience as an Anesthesia TechnicianCertification in Basic Cardiac Life SupportDemonstrates knowledge of airway management protocols, including tracheal intubations, fiber optic scopes, C-MAC's LMA's, tube exchanger, jet ventilation and AMBU bag.Ability to operate and teach set up, use, and maintenance of all specialty equipment (e.g., Belmont, cell savage system, syringe pumps, capnographs, TEEs)Join a healthcare system where employee engagement is at an all-time high.
