This position is instrumental in ensuring the efficient and compliant management of a large portion of Roadrunner Food Bank’s financial portfolio, which is derived from a variety of federal, state, city, corporate, and private foundation grants. Working under the general direction of the Controller and CFO, the Finance Grant Manager will work closely with Program, Development, and Finance staff to develop and monitor grant budgets. They will generate monthly financial grant reports, monitor all expenses charged to grants for compliance, prepare invoices, draws on funds, and prepare grant closeouts. Primary Responsibilities · Working with Development Grant Manager and Program Managers, prepares pre-award budgets for grant applications · Sets up new grants in accounting system, and reviews compliance issues and specific terms and conditions with Program Managers and relevant staff · Prepares monthly expenditure reports for Development, Finance and Program staff review · Reviews all expenditures for compliance with sponsor and RRFB policies and requirements. Makes timely adjustments as needed. · Prepares invoices and funding draws from sponsor funds · Generates financial reports for sponsors as required, and ad hoc financial reports as needed · Manages bi-annual and bi-weekly effort certification processes · Working with Development grant manager, Finance staff, and Program Managers, closes out grants and prepares final financial reports · Helps train relevant staff about compliance issues · Recommends policy and process changes that can improve compliance and efficiency · Assists Finance staff with annual single audit · In collaboration with Development Grant Manager, convenes weekly meetings with program staff to discuss grant issues · Performs other duties as assigned Travel Requirement This is a hybrid on-site and telecommuting position and does not require travel. Minimum Qualifications Required · Bachelor’s degree plus 2-3 years’ relevant work experience. · Experience working with federal grants; knowledge of compliance requirements. · Interest in hunger relief, food access, community building, and local and regional food systems work a plus. · Highly organized with superior attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills. · Ability to think strategically and to resolve problems. · Ability to work collaboratively across functional and programmatic teams and amongst diverse people and groups. · Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. · Enthusiastic attitude and ability to work as part of a team. · Results and impact driven, with the ability to manage time effectively by prioritizing tasks and managing competing priorities. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office environment/applications and standard office equipment.
