Your Role as a Junior Accountant:

  • Daily Transactions: Manage and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank transactions with precision.
  • Bank Operations: Prepare daily bank deposits and perform thorough monthly bank reconciliations.
  • General Ledger Reconciliation: Ensure accuracy in monthly financial reporting by reconciling general ledger accounts.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in compiling data and preparing comprehensive financial statements and managerial reports.
  • System Migration: Play a key role in our transition from Sage 50 to the NetSuite accounting system.
  • Grant Management: Gather documentation and prepare submissions for grant reimbursement claims.
  • Special Projects: Collaborate with the Director of Finance on various ad-hoc projects and analyses.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain organized records and files to support audits and ensure compliance.
What We're Looking For:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of accounting experience, ideally within a non-profit organization.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs. Experience with NetSuite and Concur is highly desirable.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong abilities to review financial data and generate insightful reports.
  • Organizational Prowess: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Accuracy & Accountability: A strong commitment to precision, accountability, and meeting deadlines.
