What the Senior Audit Associate will do…

Essential Functions:

  • Performing increasingly complex audits including, but not limited to lease testing, payroll testing, cash disbursement testing, auditing accounts payable, and performing searches for unrecorded liabilities, financial statement tie outs.
  • Perform research to obtain sufficient knowledge as to the clients compliance with laws, standards, regulations and ordinances
  • Prepare work papers and schedules that are informative, indexed, cross-referenced and can easily be understood and explained
  • Perform document audit tests and procedures
  • Correspond and follow up with clients regularly through engagement
  • Develop understanding of financial reporting requirements
  • Alert Senior in a timely fashion of any issues, constraints, challenges, and/or scheduling conflicts that may arise in completing the assigned task(s)
  • Manage daily client workflow and multiple client projects at any given time
  • Complete assignments within timeline and budget
  • Manage simple individual clients
  • Resolve audit issues by obtaining evidence and making inquiries of clients
  • Participate in planning and scheduling client engagements
  • Keep client team apprised of any client contact to avoid duplicate requests
  • Seek opportunities to be chargeable
  • Seek opportunities to assist with additional projects to increase technical ability
Other Functions:
  • Prepare routine correspondence to client for approval and signature of a partner
  • Work with staff on various tasks on an ad-hoc basis
  • Assist Associate I with developing understanding of clients
  • Travel roughly 30%. Geographic area primarily limited to Tri-State area
What the company needs in a Senior Audit Associate:
  • Bachelors degree in accounting or Masters degree in accounting or taxation or related field
  • 2-3 years audit experience required 1 year experience as Associate I with above average performance.
  • Proficiency in use of computers, including use of Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of and sensitivity to confidential information
  • Ability to meet time constraints and client deadlines
