We are one of the largest specialty contractors in the U.S. and the only one with all eight M.E.P (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Automation, Refrigeration, HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) design and installation capabilities in-house.We perform over $1 billion of construction projects each year with over 3,000 employees throughout 50 states from our home office in Fort Wayne, Indiana.Job SummaryEMCOR Construction Services Midwest (ECS) is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in our Fort Wayne, IN office.In this position, you will work with the rest of the mechanical design team to support in the design of mechanical and plumbing systems with a focus on Educational and Government entities. You will provide engineering support for energy conservation strategies and MEP construction projects working under an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer and/or Sr. Project Engineer.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform HVAC load calculations on buildings for analysis.Perform plumbing calculations on the buildings for analysis.Perform field investigation for systems, layout, drawings, etc.Assist in sizing equipment through selection software and vendor coordination.Generate HVAC and plumbing plans and perform drafting utilizing AutoCAD.Coordinate design of additional disciplines such as Architectural, Civil, Structural, Fire Protection, etc.Assist in developing and generating Details & Schedules.Assist with building audits, and analysis of existing systems.Become and remain familiar with Codes and Standards.Assist the team in solidifying complete solutions and provides clarity through design. Qualifications 4-7 years of experience in the HVACR industry with a Mechanical/HVAC Engineering background. Proficient use of AutoCAD, Word, Excel. Trace 700Experience with other system design softwareExperience with Adobe Pro, Bluebeam, or similar programs preferred.The ideal candidate would be able to assist in carrying out the design of such systems from beginning to final product.This person should be self-motivated, innovative, competent, responsible, proficient, and organized.This person should be personable and must work well in a team environment.Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or similar accredited Engineering Technology program required.Intrastate travel required.
