Requisition ID:72920 Principal Design Automation Engineer As a Principal Design Automation Engineer, you will develop and maintain automation solutions to support the System-in-Package (SiP) module design flow for electromagnetic (EM) simulation. Manage solution’s life cycle from creating vision of design flow, and automation tool improvement, to soliciting needs, understand bottlenecks experienced and communicate ongoing development plans with the design community. This position can be located in one of the following California sites: Newbury Park, Irvine or San Jose. Responsibilities • Qualifying new EM simulation tools and tool updates with automated regression tests. • Develop and maintain automation to support shared EM models for lumped parts and internally designed integrated circuit (IC) parts, and assembly into module EM design. • Manage project environment for SiP module design, including design sharing and part library access. • Support PC installation of Windows based design tools needed to support module flow. • Install and update Linux-based design and simulation tools, including tool launch scripts and simulation automation. Required Experience and Skills: • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 12+ years of experience in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) (MS with 8 years or PhD with 5 years applicable). • Proficient with EM simulation tools design and setup. Specifically, experience with the use of Ansys HFSS/3D Layout. • Proficient with Python language, including object-oriented programming and user interface development. • Good interpersonal communications and problem-solving skills. • Able to work both independently and as a team member. • Highly motivated with good team spirit, strong ownership and openness in project environment. Preferred Experience and Skills • Experience with revision control concepts, data management tools (Cliosoft, svn, git). • Comfortable with Unix/Linux shell scripting and the knowledge of Perl. • Working knowledge of SiP Module and EVB layout process, and use of SiP Module design tools. • Experience with Cadence Allegro/APD. • Knowledge of Cadence SKILL. per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits
